Arm Wrestling’s Popularity is Exploding

The professional sport of Arm Wrestling, much like other sports, has essentially been shut down since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the sport’s popularity is growing at a faster rate than ever before – and it’s all thanks to some big-name YouTubers who have a true passion for the sport.

Larry Wheels and Dubai

Right now there is no one skyrocketing the popularity of arm wrestling more than Larry Wheels. If you’re not familiar with Larry Wheels, he is a a professional bodybuilder with a YouTube channel that has over 1.5 million subscribers. Larry has paved his path to success by constantly striving to not only achieve lifting PR’s (Personal Records), but also break world record lifts.

Recently, Larry Wheels has taken a personal interest in the sport of arm wrestling. He is training seriously to become a competitive arm wrestler and has even started his own arm wrestling club in Dubai, where he currently lives and trains. During the pandemic, Larry has been inviting some of the world’s top arm wrestling talent to Dubai to train and create videos. The monumental success of these videos has cemented Dubai as the current Mecca of arm wrestling content. Arm Wrestlers such as Monster Michael Todd, Devon Larratt, and Levan Saginashvili have already visited Dubai to train with Larry. Californian arm wrestler, Derek Smith, is currently training with Larry in Dubai and next week Vitaly Laletin, Genadi Kvikvinia, and Ermes Gasparini will be showing up for a week of training.

Juji & Tom

Jujimufu (Jon Call) and Tom Boyden run a fitness-based YouTube channel with 1.28 million subscribers. While their channel offers a variety of different content, some of their most popular videos involve bringing on notable figures from various strength sports/disciplines to try fitness challenges or just go over some of the fundamentals of the discipline. These types of videos are not only fun to watch, but do a great job of bringing attention and exposure to lesser-known sports, like arm wrestling.

Devon Larratt

Devon Larratt is probably the most popular arm wrestler on the planet right now. His YouTube channel currently has 345K subscribers. His videos range from arm wrestling specific training tips, interviews with other professional arm wrestlers, and vlog-style videos where he discusses the sport. Devon is a big advocate for the sport and his genuine enthusiasm for arm wrestling shines through in the raw, unedited videos.

Devon has been competing at a high level in the sport of arm wrestling for over two decades. Notable achievements include winning WAL Championships in both the Right-Arm Heavyweight and Left-Arm Heavyweight categories in 2016 and 2017.
